Fleet Safety Awards

AMSA Fleet Safety Awards   The AMSA Fleet Safety Awards recognize overall safety, improvement in safety, and creativity and leadership in safety program design.

Mileage Awards are judged in five categories. An award is presented to the interstate carrier in each mileage category that has the best weighted combination of the lowest DOT recordable accident rate per million miles of vehicle operation and the lowest vehicle and driver out-of-service rate. An award is also presented to a single carrier operating on an intrastate basis, who best meets these same criteria.

The Safety Improvement Award is presented to the carrier for whom a single component of its safety program has resulted in significant improvement to its overall safety and risk management position.

Agents and independent movers are encouraged to nominate their companies for the awards. Winners have their accident and violation data audited and disclosed to maintain the integrity and credibility of the competition.
