Moving Month: Mover Highlight Marathon Moving Company

For over 20 years, Marathon Moving Company, an Allied Van Lines agent has been relocating happy customers in the Boston area, around the nation, and around the world. At Marathon, they realize how important and sensitive moving can be. And with over 40,000 relocations completed, they have the experience, equipment, technology, and most importantly the personnel to deliver one of the most stress-free moving services in the industry. With over 60 highly trained moving professionals, Marathon can handle moves large or small.

Marathon Moving Company is also committed to being a part of the community and to charitable giving.  For over 15 years, Marathon has worked with Cradles to Crayons providing men and trucks for its collection drives, as well as storage for goods to be shipped.   Marathon provides moving services for MA & NH Crisis Center for Battered Women, to assist women in getting into a safe home.  In addition to these local non-profits, Marathon works with national non-profits like the Susan G. Komen foundation, The Salvation Army, and Move for Hunger.

Paul & Gail Nelson started Marathon Moving with a simple goal of providing their clients with service excellence at competitive pricing.  As a 16-time recipient of Angi’s Super Service Award, the winner of Best of Boston by Boston Magazine in 2013, the Allied Better Together Agent of the Year in 2017, and most recently the 2021 Agent of the Year for Allied Van Lines, their efforts have been recognized by both clients and industry peers alike.

When asked what Marathon Moving means for the larger Boston community, Gail shared, “We view our company not just as a for-profit business, but as a part of the larger Boston community and a community of friends. We believe that in order to provide the best service for our customers, we need to be a part of the community – whether that is participating in local philanthropy or treating the members of our team like family.” She added, “And this outlook has really resonated with people – most of our customers come to us through references and 85% of them are repeat. People want to support a local business that shares their values and at Marathon Moving Company, we strive to represent not only the values of the industry, but of our community as well.”

American Trucking Associations’ Moving and Storage Conference is proud to have Marathon Moving & Storage Services and Paul & Gail Nelson, as representatives of our industry.
