ALEXANDRIA, VA — The American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA) announces that Katie McMichael has joined the association as director of government affairs. McMichael will be responsible for advocating on behalf of AMSA members before Congress and federal agencies and will report to Vice President of Government Affairs Paul Milotte.
Prior to joining AMSA, McMichael successfully advocated for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) for the past five years on behalf of general aviation pilots nationwide. In addition to her diverse legislative portfolio, she coordinated activities for AOPA’s political action committee. McMichael’s previous experience also includes serving on the staff of former U.S. Representative John L. Mica (R-Fla.) as a district office representative and liaison to federal agencies. Mica was the former chair of the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
“AMSA is delighted to welcome Katie McMichael to our team as we build on our strong advocacy on behalf of the moving and storage industry. She has an outstanding record of success in legislative issues, and will help us achieve our goals in raising our profile in Congress,” said Milotte.
