United States Capitol Tour

Wednesday, September 5, 3:00-4:00 p.m. (limited tickets available)

Attendees are treated to a free optional networking activity — a tour of the United States Capitol. The U.S. Capitol is a monument, a working office building, and one of the most recognizable symbols of representative democracy in the world. A tour of the historic Capitol Building will begin at the orientation theaters with a 13-minute film, “Out of Many, One,” which will take you on a journey through our country’s struggle to establish the world’s first truly representative democracy. The tour will continue to the Exhibition Hall and Visitor Center Gallery — Emancipation Hall, The Crypt, Old Supreme Court, The Rotunda, Statuary Hall, and the Old Senate Chamber. Complete information available at

A number of items are prohibited in the Capitol Building, including weapons and food or beverages of any kind. Read the complete list of prohibited items before arrival.

All registered participants will meet at the Capitol Visitor Center. Confirmed tour participants have the option to meet in the hotel lobby at 2:15 pm to walk over as a group to the Capitol Visitor Center. The main entrance to the U.S. Capitol is located beneath the East Front plaza of the U.S. Capitol at First Street and East Capitol Street. Learn more about getting to the Capitol.
