The 2019 Moving Day on Capitol Hill will be held at the Liaison Capitol Hill, located at 415 New Jersey Avenue NW, Washington, D.C., 20001.


Located in the heart of Washington, D.C., this boutique hotel is close to the U.S. Capitol, and near the city’s historic landmarks and attractions such as Capitol Hill, Union Station, the National Mall, and Smithsonian museums. With a playful, D.C.-inspired lobby art collection, contemporary comfort, the city’s largest rooftop pool (open through Sept. 30), and award-winning restaurant Art and Soul, the Liaison is a welcome gathering place for neighborhood residents, Capitol Hill professionals and travelers.


The Liaison Washington Capitol Hill is holding a limited number of rooms for attendees until Wednesday, August 14, 2019. Rooms may sell out before this date, so make your reservations early. The room rate is $249 per night for single/double occupancy. This rate does not include taxes (14.5% applicable tax). Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is 12 noon. The special group rate will be in effect three days before and after the event for those arriving early or extending their stay to enjoy the area. What to Pack

Business casual dress is encouraged for board and committee meetings, and networking events. Business attire is expected for all legislative meetings on Capitol Hill. The temperature range in Washington, D.C., during early September is in the early 80s (daytime) to the mid-60s (nighttime).

Getting Around/Parking

The Liaison Capitol Hill is five miles away (a 15-20 minute drive) from the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (Airport Code: DCA) with easy access to I-395. The approximate cost of a taxi from the airport is $22/one way. The hotel is also 55 minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport (Airport Code: IAD) and 45 minutes from Baltimore Washington International Airport (Airport Code: BWI).

The Liaison Capitol Hill’s convenient location on Capitol Hill is close to Union Station and the Metro.

Metro Washington, D.C., Subway
Take the Yellow Line from the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to the Gallery Place/Chinatown stop. Transfer to the Red Line to Union Station (2nd stop). The Union Station Metro stop is located three blocks from the hotel. Fare is approximately $2.45 (20-25 min). Fares may vary based on time-of day. To check fares, visit the WMATA website.

From/To Union Station (Amtrak Washington, D.C.)

Walking: Hotel is located near Union Station, just three blocks away. Follow exit signs to get to the front of Union Station Washington, D.C. Take E Street (between the semicircle of flags) to the intersection of E Street NW, and New Jersey Avenue, NW, then make a left on New Jersey Avenue – the hotel is on the left side and right next to the D.C. Fire and EMS Museum. Taxis are available outside the main entrance of Union Station. Approximate fare is $5.50, with possible surcharges.


Valet parking is available at the standard rate of $39 daily parking (3-10 hours) and $59 overnight with in-and-out access. Self-parking is available at a standard rate of $23 (2-10 hours) and $50 overnight with no in-and-out access. Rates are displayed at the entrance of the parking garage and are subject to change without notice.

In addition, taxicabs are located nearby, offering efficient service locally and to/from both nearby attractions and the airports.
