NASA’s Johnson Space Center Tour

Don’t miss Space Center Houston’s most popular attraction, the NASA Tram Tour. This is your chance to go on site at NASA Johnson Space Center and get a behind-the-scenes look at human space exploration. The NASA Tram Tour is included in your admission to Space Center Houston. The “Private Tram Experience” is 90 minutes and includes a tour of the historic mission control, the astronaut training facility and Rocket Park, including the iconic Saturn V rocket. Afterwards, walk through Space Center Houston at your leisure. Transportation and continental breakfast are included. All tickets are non-refundable.
Attendees will meet at the Marriott Marquis Houston’s hotel lobby at 8:30 a.m. for prompt departure.

Athena Gun Club & Indoor Shooting Range

Sunday, March 24, 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
$250 per attendee (limited tickets available)

Setting a new standard in the firearms industry, Athena Gun Club proudly serves their diverse community as Houston’s largest gun club and indoor shooting range. All attendees will start with an instructor led 30-minute safety course to learn how to properly and safely use the rental firearms.

About our package:

  • An entire bay that is specifically reserved for our group (six lanes total).
  • Rental includes one machine gun, four handguns and two semi-auto rifle rentals.
  • Ammunition includes two magazines per person for machine gun; 50 rounds for handguns (one box) per person; 20 rounds for semi-automatic rifles (one box) per person. Attendees have the option of purchasing additional ammunition onsite.
  • 2.5 hours total time (30 minutes class; one hour on range; one hour in virtual simulator).
  • Firearms will be assigned to each lane and our group will be able to move back and forth between lanes shooting each firearm. Targets will be provided on the range.
  • Appropriate eye and ear protection will be provided

Dress Code

Attendees should dress comfortably, but any clothing that creates a hazard or dangerous distraction or causes offense to other guests and/or staff is strictly prohibited at the Athena Gun Club. This includes baggy pants and clothing with offensive writing or images. Open-toed shoes are acceptable, but tennis shoes or other close-toed shoes are recommended on the shooting range. The gun club reserves the right to refuse business to anyone dressed in a manner deemed inappropriate by the staff.

Transportation and continental breakfast are included. Attendees will meet at the Marriott Marquis Houston’s hotel lobby at 8:30 a.m. for prompt departure. All tickets are non-refundable.

Houston Art Murals Tour

With its own graffiti museum and mural festival, it’s no secret that Houston has one of the most vibrant street art scenes in the world. From The Heights to East Downtown, Houston’s neighborhoods are dotted with dozens of colorful walls. Whether you’re looking for that perfect social media backdrop or a dose of culture, take a tour of Houston’s most popular murals. The tour will be led by Laurie Mill, who will provide a unique perspective on Houston street art, the artists behind it and the meaning of the painted walls. 40Below Community Service Project Bike Build

Conference attendees will work in teams to build and customize bicycles that will be donated to local children. Volunteers will be grouped in teams of three and compete to build a bicycle. The first team to cross the finish line will receive a prize (and ultimate bragging rights). All bicycles will be donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Houston.

The Moving and Storage Institute (MSI) is the philanthropic arm of AMSA and was founded to foster educational opportunities for individuals in the moving and storage industry, facilitate the development of industry education and certification programs, and to cultivate a broader understanding and appreciation of the transportation of household goods moving and warehousing. Attendees are encouraged to bid on fabulous items during the Moving & Storage Institute’s annual Silent Auction, open daily during Expo hours, and the fast-paced and exciting Live Auction, during Tuesday’s Evening of the Stars dinner and awards presentation. AMPAC is proud to present the 12th Annual Pinewood Derby complete with racing moving trucks! AMPAC has custom made and primed a fleet of pinewood derby trucks to race to the finish line. If you want to personalize your derby truck with colors and decals of choice to represent your company trucks to just be creative, AMPAC will ship the trucks to you. AMSA Member-sponsored pinewood trucks will race in the Expo.
