NASA’s Johnson Space Center Tour

Don’t miss Space Center Houston’s most popular attraction, the NASA Tram Tour. This is your chance to go on site at NASA Johnson Space Center and get a behind-the-scenes look at human space exploration. The NASA Tram Tour is included in your admission to Space Center Houston. The “Private Tram Experience” is 90 minutes and includes a tour of the historic mission control, the astronaut training facility and Rocket Park, including the iconic Saturn V rocket. Afterwards, walk through Space Center Houston at your leisure. Transportation and continental breakfast are included. All tickets are non-refundable.

The AMSA Independent & Small Movers committee presents the 2nd Annual Independent Forum at the AMSA 2019 Education Conference & Expo. Our special guest speaker, Steve Beck, will talk about best practices in customer service. Following his presentation, you’ll have the opportunity to expand your knowledge networks and share best practices with your industry colleagues at a special reception.

40Below Community Service Project Bike Build
Tuesday, March 26, 1 – 2:30 p.m.
Conference attendees will work in teams to build and customize bicycles that will be donated to local children. Volunteers will be grouped in teams of three and compete to build a bicycle. The first team to cross the finish line will receive a prize (and ultimate bragging rights). All bicycles will be donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Houston.

The Moving and Storage Institute (MSI) is the philanthropic arm of AMSA and was founded to foster educational opportunities for individuals in the moving and storage industry, facilitate the development of industry education and certification programs, and to cultivate a broader understanding and appreciation of the transportation of household goods moving and warehousing. Attendees are encouraged to bid on fabulous items during the Moving & Storage Institute’s annual Silent Auction, open daily during Expo hours, and the fast-paced and exciting Live Auction, during Tuesday’s Evening of the Stars dinner and awards presentation. AMPAC is proud to present the 12th Annual Pinewood Derby complete with racing moving trucks! AMPAC has custom made and primed a fleet of pinewood derby trucks to race to the finish line. If you want to personalize your derby truck with colors and decals of choice to represent your company trucks to just be creative, AMPAC will ship the trucks to you. AMSA Member-sponsored pinewood trucks will race in the Expo.

Evening of the Stars Awards Reception & Dinner

This night to remember continues with the Evening of the Stars Awards dinner (7 – 9:30 p.m.), celebrating and recognizing the best in our industry. We will present the awards for the 2018 Fleet Safety, Super Van Operators, the Summit Award for Supplier Members, the Agent of the Year, Independent Mover of the Year, Enterprise Award for Small Movers, and the Young Professional Model of Excellence Award. The presentations include the annual MSI Live Auction, and the event culminates with the Moving & Storage Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Service.
