AMSA Announces Search for New CEO

 

After more than 26 years of service with the American Moving & Storage Association, Scott Michael is resigning from his position as president and CEO, effective December 6, 2019.

Prior to his leadership as president and CEO, Michael served as AMSA’s vice president for military and government affairs as well as other positions within AMSA and the American Movers Conference. Scott led and developed strong and talented teams, each of which play an integral role in the success of our nonprofit.

“We are extremely grateful for Scott’s contributions to the moving and storage industry and wish him the very best in his future endeavors,” said AMSA chair Bill Paxton.

John Becker, vice president of military affairs and policy, has been appointed by the board to as interim president to oversee day-to-day operations until a new president and CEO is in place.

The AMSA Executive Committee has appointed a search committee to find a new CEO. During this transition period, it is AMSA’s priority to find the best individual to lead AMSA while continuing to provide leadership, value and service to our members.
