American Moving & Storage Association Elects New Chairman, Officers and Members of the Board

Head of Atlas World Group Elected to Lead AMSA

Alexandria, VA – Glen Dunkerson, chairman and CEO of Atlas World Group, Inc., in Evansville, Ind., has been elected the new chairman of the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA). He takes over for Stephen Burns, chairman of Wheaton|Bekins in Indianapolis, Ind., who remains as immediate past chairman.

“My commitment to our membership is simple. First and foremost, I’ll work to the benefit of AMSA. While we each represent our own companies, we serve the greater good of the industry by working together,” said Dunkerson. “We’ve got a great team leading AMSA. I’m going to try to live up to the high standards that Steve Burns has set to lead the industry to greater progress and prosperity.”

In addition, John D. Morrissette, president of Interstate Van Lines in Springfield, Va., was elected vice chair; Barry S. Vaughn, president and CEO of The Suddath Companies in Jacksonville, Fla., was elected treasurer; and Katrina Blackwell, owner and president of American Red Ball Transit Co. in Indianapolis, Ind., was elected secretary. Bill Borgman, senior vice president of Graebel Moving Services in Aurora, Colo., was elected to the Executive Committee.

Finally, new members elected to the board are:

  • John Alianello, executive vice president for business development of MiniMoves, Inc., in Hillside, Ill.
  • Joe Biskner, president and chief operating officer of Stevens Worldwide Van Lines in Saginaw, Mich.
  • David Morse, president of Morse Moving & Storage, Inc., in Romulus, Mich.
  • Brian Schaeffer, corporate sales executive at MSS in Montgomeryville, Pa.
